Sheldon and Jo

Sheldon and Jo

Sheldon and Jo met for the first time in 2012, at Sheldon’s farewell party. He was moving to Dubai and had organized a farewell at a popular Durban restaurant, where Jo was having dinner. Neither of them took much notice of each other as thy were both in committed relationships. Fast forward to 2014, Sheldon had moved back to South Arica and both Jo and Sheldon were single BUT Jo decided that it was her turn to give Dubai a shot. Fate, however, decided to intervene…they had messed up their ‘meet cute’ once before…fate wouldn’t allow it to happen again!!! Numbers were exchanged through a mutual friend and they decided to meet for a friendly dinner. The rest is history- Jo quickly called of her plans to move to Dubai and the pair have been inseparable ever since.
Sheldon proposed to Jo, in Cape Town, on the 19th of March 2016. The following week they decided to have breakfast at Market restaurant, to celebrate their engagement. It was a stunning day and they were seated outside, under the trees. Neither of them had heard of weddings being held at Market before. The two of them agreed that this would make the ideal wedding venue  and after enquiring were told the happy news- Market was open for weddings and was also available on the 8th of April 2017.

The Venue

Market restaurant is small and intimate… exactly what Sheldon and Jo wanted for their wedding- A personal affair, with their nearest and dearest. The trees and the fairylights were something off the Pinterest board Jo had created months before Sheldon had even proposed. The relaxed atmosphere, the delicious tapas style menu, the ice cream truck and the late night pizzas all came together resulting in a magical night neither of them will ever forget.
The feeling of love filled the entire venue and both Sheldon and Jo, as well as all of their guests, left the wedding knowing that they were loved.
‘We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day. It felt like something out of a fairytale! All of our expectations were exceeded… and then some. The weather was perfect, the church service was so special and personal and the wedding venue literally took our breath away. The best part was being able to celebrate with all of our family and friends. Special memories were made that day which we are going to cherish forever. If only life had a rewind button so we could relive that day over and over’- Jo and Sheldon
