What happens when a Construction Company Owner/DJ and a Clothing Designer get married? A stylish, rustic, fun, unconventional wedding, with the plenty of DIY projects and colour, a one of a kind wedding dress, and an awesome Party!
Natalie & Richard met 8 years ago while working at a restaurant and became good friends. Richard always believed that there was more than friendship, but Natalie took a little more convincing…three and a half years in fact! When eventually they were both single at the same time, they went on their ‘first date’…. And have been inseparable since then.Eighteen months later, Richard proposed on the top on Sani Pass (the high altitude and bumpy road are said to have made ‘things fall into place’ for Richard…), Natalie said yes, and the planning began. However, shortly thereafter, Richard got retrenched, and so the wedding plans were shelved.
Eventually, after being engaged for four years, and moving the date 4 times (all the while insisting that they still wanted me to do their photography, come hell or high water…), this couple finally got married at Bellevue Campus in Kloof, and held the reception at Bellevue Café. They decided on Bellevue Café for their reception after having dinner there one night, as it was close for most guests, the food was spectacular, the atmosphere was inviting and team were very accommodating! Trying to keep the wedding as ‘Green’ as possible, they decided to have the ceremony in the grounds, so that their guest would not have to travel.
Special thanks too the Kloof & Highway SPCA for use of their area, and as you can see, the light was spectacular and gave the photographs an enchanted forest look, which the couple were absolutely thrilled with! Despite being nervous about the photographs, this couple looked like they had such fun, and were full of smiles and giggles.
At the end of the hard work and planning, Richard and Natalie’s day was filled with all their favourite things – delicious food, close friends & family, an awesome party….and the fact that they were finally married!
